Tidying up

Tidying up

For those unaware, I launched a casino version of Poker Affiliate Bible earlier this year, Casino Affiliate Bible. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how both sites are structured. While there are a lot of poker and casino specific articles I write, there are also articles that apply to both sites, ie: Calls To Action.

So I’ve decided to make some changes to the navigation structure.

Casino Affiliate Bible

Casino Affiliate Bible

I’ve noticed a trend when I talk to sub-affiliates lately; many are interested in getting into the casino affiliate market. It got to the point where I realized I was repeating myself over and over, telling people the exact same thing about negative carryover, preparing for the swings, the differences in being a poker affiliate and a casino affiliate.

I finally realized the best thing to do was start up a casino affiliate resource – hence the launch of Casino Affiliate Bible.

Bodog.com is Back!

Bodog.com is Back!

It’s not been the greatest week for the online poker industry but at least there is some good news – after a lengthy battle, Bodog.com is back. No more crappy domains, it’s good old Bodog.com, which will make it a lot easier to promote them, as it’s such a strong brand name.

If you’ve not updated your affiliate links be sure to do so, and if you’re not promoting them – you’re missing out. They’re so awesome that even though they don’t have a sub-affiliate program(get on that Seb!!!), I’m still telling you guys – start promoting Bodog.com.

Your Feedback – I Want It!

Your Feedback – I Want It!

If there’s one piece of advice I always like to offer, it’s know your audience. Know them, understand them, and listen to them. Find out what they want, and provide that for them.

That’s the point of this article – I need you to tell me what you want.

RSS Feed Update

RSS Feed Update

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have updated our RSS Feed URL. The old RSS Feed will no longer be updated, and as we have many RSS Feed subscribers we ask for that you upgrade the RSS Feed URL in your RSS Reader. The new URL is:

http://feeds.feedburner.com/PokerAffiliateBible

Just click that link to add it to your RSS Reader. We have went with Feedburner as it is a much better service, and displays a lot of information that will be relevant for when I write an article on RSS Feeds next month.

I’m at CAP Euro!

I’m at CAP Euro!

Just wanted to post a note that there’ll be no new articles for a week, as I’m heading to CAP Euro in the wonderful city of Barcelona.  If anyone wants to schedule a meet-up, for advice on being an affiliate or just to chat, then drop me an e-mail at dan@dealerdangaming.com.
When I get back, I’ll [...]

New design, expect some hiccups

New design, expect some hiccups

I’ve finally did the DNS changes for the new site, so if you’re seeing this then your ISP has updated its nameservers. I just want to note that the design and upgrade isn’t 100% complete yet – there is still some work to be done. However I wanted to get things switched over as soon as possible.

Hopefully you all like the new design. It’s a big improvement on the old one, that’s for sure. There will be some hiccups, possible broken links etc – all I ask is that you bear with me for a couple of days, and we should have the site running smoothly again in no time. I’ve got a lot of new articles that I am just aching to write!

Design Changes

Design Changes

Just as an example of me practicing what I preach – when I was in the planning stages for the Poker Affiliate Bible, I thought big but I started small. I’ve got a lot of plans for this site – trip reports for various conferences, audio and video “articles” and interviews with key players of the poker affiliate world to name just a few. So I had a brainstorming session when first starting out, and wrote down all the ideas that me and my assistant came up with for this site. However after listing all the ideas, we then narrowed it down to one important factor – which was content. The aim of the site when first starting out(and still is) is to focus on written content. I didn’t even care much about design back then – as long as the site was easy to navigate and easy to read I was happy. [read more]
