Now before I get into the whole spiel about the pros and cons of promoting Cool Hand Poker and Referback, I’d like to tell you my reason for listing them here on PAB.  I’m very selective as to who I list here – I have affiliate programs e-mailing me all the time asking to be listed.  However I like to spend time working with the affiliate program, getting to know them and see if they are worth listing here because after all – I can’t list just anyone here.  I make money from sub-affiliate commission – what is the point of listing programs here that have bad retention or bad affiliate managers?  If you’re going to click just one of my sub-affiliate links after reading a review then I want it to be one that we both make money from, simple as that.

So – why Referback?   Well, Sonet Geyer, an affiliate manager at Referback, had e-mailed me about possibly working together.  It was actually a very nice and personalized e-mail – a rare thing in this industry – so we chatted about possibly promoting her products.  I’m sure I’m not the only one that is put off by the name Cool Hand Poker – however they actually have a great signup bonus for the player(one of the easiest on the net to clear), and have been running TV ads, so I decided to work with them in the off-chance that the TV ads take off or that word of mouth about their bonus sees them grow in popularity.

I talked to Sonet and she was excellent to deal with – very friendly, and made everything easy for me.  Honestly it surprised me when I found out she hadn’t been in the industry too long – she was clearly a fast learner, and very eager to please.  So we chatted, and set up some deals in regard to promoting a few of the Referback properties.

One condition I didn’t meet was getting a review up of Cool Hand Poker.  My content writer wrote it, however my son ended up being very sick for a few days, and I was unable to post the review.  I e-mailed Sonet just to let her know about the delay and the reason for the deal and she was completely understanding.

One week later – packages arrived, all addressed to my son.  We opened them to discover that Sonet had sent him a ton of “feel better” gifts – Ben 10 books, a DVD, 3D glasses etc.  Here’s a picture of my son with just some of the many, many gifts he received:

Right there Referback, and specifically Sonet, jumped straight to the top when it comes to properties that I am going to promote.  Is it possible she had an ulterior motive, in that by sending the gifts I would push Referback a bit more?  Honestly who cares(and from speaking to her often I doubt she did) – the fact is she went the extra mile, and made my 5 year old sons day.  She took it beyond just a business relationship, and really stepped up.  Add that to the facts that she is always available, always communicative, will get me any information I need, and you have yourself one hell of an awesome affiliate manager.

Go through my links, and we’ll be sure to make sure you are set up with Sonet as your affiliate manager.  Click here to sign up at Referback, or keep reading for more information.

If you’re looking for an affiliate program that has been around for a while and not a new kid on the block, Referback has been around and has been successful since 1999. Considering how many groups have started up and unfortunately failed since then, that’s an amazing feat. Experience goes along way in earning an affiliate’s trust and helps affiliates feel safe in promoting an online poker room.

Cool Hand Poker offers a 100% up to $350 signup bonus. They also have leaderboard challenges and tournaments with prizes such as laptops, game consoles, trips, MP3 players, tournament entries and much more. Cool Hand Poker has a decent amount of things going on for you to promote.

Cool Hand Poker is powered by Microgaming, which has a similar software package for its casinos. It offers Texas Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha games as well as Sit & Go tournaments and a Bad Beat Jackpot. The network does not accept US players (which means peak times are during European daylight hours), nor does it allow rakeback. It is targetted towards the casual poker player.

New affiliates will receive a special 40% commission for the first three months after signing up. After that, Referback gives affiliates a choice of two commission structures. The first option is a rev share deal – you start off at 20% and after you bring in enough players, you can move up to earning 30% every single month. The other option is a CPA deal, where you get $50 for your first ten players, then you earn $115 until after you’ve referred 25 players, where you will earn $150 per player. To keep things fair and on the level, your players will have to play 20 raked hands to qualify. Keep in mind, the commission structures are different between the casino, poker and bingo properties! Affiliate payments are made by the 10th working day of each month for affiliates who have earned over the $50 minimum payment.

In addition to being able to promote Cool Hand Poker, by signing up with Referback, you can also promote Jackpot City Bingo and their five casinos – Jackpot City Casino (which also has a mobile casino), River Belle Casino, Lucky Nugget Casino, King Neptune’s Casino and Gaming Club Casino. Personally, as an affiliate who promotes every type of online gambling site imaginable, having all of these brands consolidated under one umbrella makes things a lot easier.

Referback gives affiliates a good choice of promotional materials, with new material added frequently. Banners of all shapes and sizes are available. You can find them in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish – which is good for affiliates targetting the European market and in many different currencies. You can also get mailers as well as game and site reviews, incase you are in need of content.

Your personal account manager will play a pivotal role in getting you bespoke landing pages, creative and content in the languages you’re trying to target – all you have to do is ask!  So be sure to speak to those affiliate managers.

For affiliates just starting out, much like this site, Referback offers many tips on getting started such as help on selecting a domain, SEO, finding a host and much more. If you’re looking for help above what they offer on their website, you can also contact them directly by e-mail.
