Excellent software, a lot of traffic, not too difficult games, a large variety in games and a large selection of tournaments, with many big guaranteed prize pools. Full Tilt Poker really is a site that offers it all for the players, and it does a good job in regard to affiliates too. Since it hit the online poker scene in 2004, Full Tilt has hit numerous road bumps but managed to overcome them, and are one of the best all around poker rooms today. The software is fantastic - so easy to use, highly customizable, resizeable tables, and very appealing to look at. It also offers lots of good features like transferring cash to other players, tournament dollars, gift certificates and a rewards program for players where they can spend points in a very largely stocked Full Tilt store, with a lot of variety. Full Tilt also offers a 100% to $600 bonus, with reloads every couple of months.
As mentioned however, Full Tilt has hit a few bumps in the road. For one - their support isn’t as good as it should be. There are often cases of players having accounts hacked. While this isn’t exactly Full Tilts problem, the way they deal with it can be troubling. With no phone number to reach them you can only contact them via e-mail, and sometimes they will be very unresponsive. They are usually able to resolve everything satisfactorily, however their lack of response time when dealing with large issues like this are obviously concerning, as it can give Full Tilt some bad PR. On a personal note, I should add that as a player of Full Tilt since the site began I’ve never had a problem in regard to communication - whether it be e-mailing the cashier, the support, the private tournaments department or the affiliate department.
Full Tilts affiliate department is also very small - however this has never been a problem. E-mail responses are always within 24 hours, often sooner, and you can most likely get any problems resolved very quickly. My affiliate manager Nell is excellent at getting things resolved, especially considering the workload as Full Tilt is one of the most popular poker rooms around.
Their affiliate backend is excellent. Marketing wise, they have a lot of offline marketing material, including various special images like the Final Table image, and the Fremont Street image. Customizable business cards are also available for download. Full Tilt also offers the ability to create an offline CD that you can hand out to people to get them to sign up, complete with artwork. In regard to online marketing - no-one offers the choices Full Tilt do. There’s the standard affiliate banners, with an incredible variety in sizes and choices, promoting all the various strengths of Full Tilt, like the signup bonus and being able to play with the pros. They also offer a variety of widgets, like news widgets, tournament widgets and pro tips widgets. You can also create private tournaments via the backend.
Overall, Full Tilt really does a great job for affiliates, and is an easy poker room to promote. This is a site that doesn’t need affiliates either - they could quite easily treat affiliates like an afterthought much like Pokerstars, however they don’t - they’re constantly working to make the affiliate site better and more accessible, and clearly realize just how important affiliates are. I should note however that Full Tilt have a rule that if a player you refer to Full Tilt doesn’t reach an account balance of $25(or more) within 60 days of signup, he’ll be removed from your tracker. So it’s recommended that when you promote the site and its bonuses, you focus on “only available for a limited time” type marketing, to encourage the players to deposit sooner.
