Poker Affiliate Bible - The #1 Free Poker Affiliate Guide

Thank You

I just want to send out a thank you to all affiliates who read, and reacted to my letter to Full Tilt article written two days ago.  No more e-mails need to be sent, because Full Tilt have listened to affiliates, and came to a compromise.  A player is now considered a real money player when their account balance hits at least the $25 mark.  So if someone gets transferred $25 they are now a real money player.  If someone gets transferred $20 they’re not - but as soon as their balance hits that $25 mark, they become a real money player.

Is this perfect?  No.  But it’s a lot better than what it was.  Down the road, I’ll most definitely look into getting this improved even more, but for now I’d say this little “battle” has been resolved.  A big thanks to everyone who e-mailed, and also to the affiliate managers at Full Tilt who not only listened to us, but then took the matter to the powers that be.

A Letter to Full Tilt

As I’m sure most existing Full Tilt Poker affiliates know, Full Tilt Poker recently made the decision to enforce their policy of a player being removed from an affiliates tracking if, after 60 days, they aren’t qualified as a real money player. This has been covered in detail in this thread on Poker Affiliate Programs so I won’t go into it here. Bottom line is that this decision was made, and there doesn’t appear to be any way to get this changed.

However there is a bigger problem stemming from this situation - the definition of a real money player, as per Full Tilts terms and conditions. Currently, the T&C state that a real money player is someone who makes a minimum deposit onto the site. What does this mean? It means that if a player receives a transfer on Full Tilt but doesn’t deposit, or wins a freeroll and gets their bankroll started that way -after 60 days, the player will be removed from your reports, as they aren’t classified as a real money player. So in theory, someone can get a transfer for thousands of dollars, play NL600 every day for 60 days generating thousands of dollars of revenue - yet aren’t classified as a real money player, so you wouldn’t get the credit for sending them to the poker room. My my, time does fly

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to write a quick apology for the few amount of articles over the last couple of months.  To be perfectly honest, things have been very hectic this end.  Ever since my wife had our second child last year, it’s been tougher to get on the computer as much as I should - one of the downfalls in working in an office at home unfortunately, because you suddenly become accessible for daytime babysitting duties!  We’ve also had a horrific time with illnesses and deaths in the family, and I was even laid up with pneumonia twice in the last six months.

Why am I telling you all this?  Because I wanted you to know that despite all this, the Dealer Dan Gaming Network has been running smoothly, stronger than ever and expanding on a daily basis.  Despite my bad luck over the last few months, I’ve thankfully had employees who have been able to make things run smoothly for the most part, and unless you’re a regular reader of the PAP Forums or of this site, you would have never noticed I’d even disappeared for a bit.

And the reason I am telling you that, is because it’s a segway into my next article, entitled “Sharing the Workload?“, which discusses working as an affiliate by yourself, partnering up with people, or even outsourcing certain tasks.  Read It Now!

Thank you Cake

Despite only being in existence for approximately 18 months, I firmly believe Cake Poker are one of the best poker rooms to promote. US-friendly, very fishy players, excellent marketing department and great promotions, and one of the best affiliate departments to boot. I originally dealt with Rob at Cake and now Shenaz, and the two of them have been absolutely incredible when it comes to helping me and my players out. These are people that care more about the bottom line - they care about their affiliates and their players too, and have fast became the best affiliate department I could ever hope to work with.

And now, I have another reason to like Cake, when I went to my mailbox today… (more…)

Yikes - where does the time go?

I can’t believe my last update here was in August!  Over a month without an update - sorry about that guys.  It’s been a busy time on this front; after attending the Casino Affiliate Convention I came up with some ideas for some new sites, and so I’ve been busy with that.  Also some overhauls on my current sites that required quite a bit of work, as well as setting up some new business deals that took awhile.  Then disaster struck over the last month, as I managed to go down with pneumonia, while my wife went down with pneumonia AND viral vertigo.  This not only meant work was kept to a minimal for a month, as both sick we tried to look after our two kids, but I wasn’t able to attend the CAP Euro event in Barcelona.

I’m getting back on track now though, and I’m going to open up a blog category here in a few days where I will just give my opinion on things going on in the industry, as well as various other articles, many of which should give you some valuable insights into the life of a full-time affiliate, as well as give you some ideas to hopefully help you continue to earn the big bucks.

I’ll be back over the weekend with a CAC 2007 Trip Report, as well as an article on whether to get into the affiliate business with a partner, or do it alone - a question that has been posed to me by a few different people recently.
