Think Big, Start Small
Most affiliates I talk to always talk about these grand plans that they have for the sites that they are building. And that’s fine. I encourage that. However I also make sure to give them a reality check; while it is good to be optimistic, it is better to start slow, build a foundation first and then expand. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and it is very easy to suffer burnout if you take on too big a project. Furthermore, by focusing on smaller sites you’re more likely to hit your target market, and less likely to lose players who aren’t interested in everything you offer. In other words, Think Big, Start Small.
Poker Affiliate Programs that Offer CPA
With the situation in the USA, I’m often asked what poker rooms and casinos via their affiliate program offer CPA, or Cost Per Acquisition for players that they send. While I’ve written in the past about why I much prefer Revenue Share to CPA, I can understand where people are coming from, particularly if you’re still targeting towards US players, because no-one knows the longevity of those poker rooms, or these players. Also without the US playerbase, we’ve seen many poker rooms switch from network to network, which obviously loses players in the progress.

Full Tilt Poker is quite possibly one of the easiest poker rooms to promote. Excellent software, a lot of traffic, not too difficult games, a large variety in games and a large selection of tournaments, with many big guaranteed prize pools. If that wasn’t enough - Full Tilts main selling point is that it boasts the most amount of online poker professional “celebrity” players, and is also open to Americans.
